Call centers benefit
greatly from the lower cost of VoIP services. An expensive phone
switch from one of the large vendors can now be replaced with a
low-cost service running on cheap computers.
A small call center
with fewer than than 10 agents that doesn't need outbound predictive
dialing can use the features provided by FreePBX. Larger call
centers will benefit from the features in Vicidial.
FreePBX is an office
phone system running on a PC. It has all the features of the
expensive systems from legacy vendors and can support 100
extensions or more. Small call centers can use FreePBX to handle
inbound and outbound agent calls in addition to internal calls.
A larger call center will use FreePBX as their office phone
system and Vicidial to manage the call center.
Vicidial is a
Voice-over-IP call center package that runs on servers hosted in
a secure, reliable data center in San Antonio, TX. Phone lines
can be delivered to the servers by T1 or from VoIP service
providers. The Vicidial system queues callers and distributes
their calls to agents. For outbound calling, the system has a
list of phone numbers and uses predictive dialing to maximize
the utilization of your agents. Each agent needs a PC with a web
browser, and a low-cost VoIP phone or a softphone. The office
housing the agent needs a high quality internet connection.
